Bimbo Bakery – Window Removal

Project Manager: Eddie Simmons Supervisor: Eric Ferrer PCS was contracted for the removal & disposal of the large two-story windows from the Bimbo Bakery facility located in Reading, PA. Bimbo Bakeries is one of the world's largest bread makers. PCS is excited to be a part of this facilities upgrades. First step was to gain access to the massive two-story windows, a boom lift was utilized. PCS's skilled selective demo crews carefully removed the windows with suction cups, placed them in the lift and lower the windows to the ground level for proper disposal.

Penn State Health – Hershey Medical Center ED Expansion

Power Component Systems performed Selective Demolition at the very high profile Emergency Department expansion for the Penn State Health Hershey Medical Center. There were many phases and challenges at this site, including working around CT Scan equipment, Neurology surgery areas, and the occasional Life Lion helicopter arrival. National Museum of American History – Objects Processing Facility

The Smithsonian began Phase 2 of the project to renovate the permanent Objects Processing Facility to meet all Smithsonian collections care and security standards. Power Component Systems was contracted to perform Selective Demolition Services and Asbestos Abatement Services at the National Museum of American History Museum during a recent 2,361 SF renovation of office space used for receiving and processing new museum objects. Port Discovery Children’s Museum Renovation

PCS, Inc. was contracted by Lewis Contractors to support a large multi-phase $10M renovation project at Port Discovery Children’s Museum in Baltimore. In addition to the renovations and improvements, two new exhibits were constructed - the Port Exhibit and the SkyClimber.  PCS provided selective demolition services throughout multiple areas on the first and second levels. Demolition crews removed flooring, lighting, mechanical duct-work, signage, walls, handrails, lockers, bathrooms stalls, plumbing fixtures, doors, and more. PCS also removed concrete floor slab concrete sawing. The museum had its grand opening in June 2019.

WMATA Platforms – 6 Metro Station Rehab

PCS, Inc. was contracted by Kiewit Corporations to support a large multi-phase rehabilitation project to six yellow line metro stations located throughout Virginia for Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority. PCS is performing selective demolition services at three of the locations, including King Street, Eisenhower and Huntington Metro Stations. During this multi-phase project, PCS demolition crews will be removing skylights, unused equipment, signage, windscreens, benches, trash receptacles, phone booths, decommissioned exit fare machines, stair handrails, and much more. We are scheduled to complete work at all three stations in the next few weeks.

Bulova Building Redevelopment

PCS was contracted by Warfel Construction to perform selective demolition and concrete cutting services to the former Bulova Building in Lancaster, PA. This expansive $28.5 million historical renovation project will turn the former building, renamed 101NQ, into a mixed-use complex that will house more than 150,000 SF of retail, restaurants, offices and luxury condos in the heart of downtown. Zamagias Properties and its partners on the project, Lefever Funk Architects, RGS Associates, Warfel Construction, and PPM Real Estate Inc., plan to have 101NQ completed by summer 2019. PCS is thrilled to be part of this exciting redevelopment project for the city of Lancaster.

Walter Reed Medical Center – NPDS Clinic

PCS, Inc. was contracted by Signature Renovations to provide selective demolition and abatement services in the Navy Postgraduate Dental School Clinic while it underwent renovations. Crews removed 325 SF of lead-lines walls as well as asbestos-contaminated floor tiles and mastic.

NIH Cage Wash Upgrades

PCS, Inc. was contracted by Patriot Construction to provide selective demolition and concrete cutting services throughout sterilizer labs in building 14A as part of the Cage Wash Upgrades project. Demolition crews removed sterilizer stations and associated CMU walls, Crews also removed concrete slab via saw cutting.

FBI Academy Building 9 Renovation

PCS, Inc. was contracted by Signature Renovations, LLC to provide interior demolition in conjunction with asbestos abatement, mold remediation and PCB removal in Building 9 of the FBI Academy. PCS removed PCB-contaminated condensing units, 3600SF of contaminated floor tile/mastic, and asbestos-contaminated pipe insulation. Crews remediated mold-infected areas throughout the basement as well. Demolition crews removed interior carpet, ceilings, floor tiles, walls, sinks, and showers.
