DC Armory Mechanical Repairs

PCS, Inc. was contracted by Doyon Project Services, LLC to support the USACE-B DCNG DC Armory Mechanical Repairs project by performing selective demolition and concrete coring services. During this multi-phase renovation project, PCS demolition crews removed interior walls, doors, frames and one boiler and associated piping. PCS crews will be returning to the jobsite this spring to wrap up our portion of the project by providing GPR services to facilitate core drilling removing another boiler and associated piping. This was our first time working with Doyon and we look forward to working together again. Stay tuned for more updates!

American Red Cross Renovation

PCS, Inc. was contracted by HITT Contracting, Inc. to provide selective demolition services at the American Red Cross located in Washington, D.C. During this renovation project, PCS demolition crews removed interior walls, ceilings, doors, mechanical ductwork, carpet, flooring, millwork, faucets, sinks, railing, and frames from the facility. Exterior demolition crews demolished and removed vehicle barrier gates and a control booth structure.

Gibson Island Cottages Renovation

PCS, Inc. was contracted by DACG Commercial, LLC to provide selective demolition services in conjunction with concrete cutting services to renovate the Club House Cottages located on Gibson Island. PCS crews removed multiple panels of 8” thick concrete roof to facilitate a vertical expansion. Other materials were removed including 4,000 SF of asbestos-containing roofing materials. PCS utilized our DXR-140 demolition robot to remove larger items, including two concrete stairwells. We also removed and salvaged blue stone located around the building.

Carl Moultrie Courthouse Renovations

PCS, Inc. was contracted by Forrester Construction to provide asbestos abatement in conjunction with interior demolition services to upgrade courtrooms and judges quarters. Demo crews removed ceilings, drywall, plumbing, partitions, light fixtures, doors, frames, windows, benches, flooring, and mechanical piping/ductwork. PCS saw cut slab openings for new ductwork and provided openings in walls for needling, which was done by others. PCS abated mechanical ductwork and removed other ACM including linoleum, mastic and VAT. This was a phased renovation project with labor restrictions.

AOC Capitol Power Plant Upgrades

PCS, Inc. was contracted by Kiewit Building Group, Inc. to abate and demolish materials throughout the Power Plant during the multi-phase upgrade. Crews removed all electrical equipment from the ceilings and walls, abated LBP and then repainted with encapsulating paint. PCS removed exterior windows and abated LBP and contaminated caulk around the window frames. Crews demolished various PCB contaminated materials, including a chain-link fence, metal awnings, contaminated soil, and a 12'x12' concrete pad. Crews also removed and disposed of ACM piping, insulation and beams found throughout the facility.

Berryville Primary School Renovation

PCS, Inc. was contracted by H&W Construction to provide selective demolition and asbestos abatement services throughout the facility. Demolition crews removed ceiling, drywall, plumbing & light fixtures, doors, frames, windows, and mechanical piping/ductwork. Abatement crews sprayed all chalkboards with an asbestos encapsulant and disposed of them.

St. Luke’s University Health Network – Hispanic Center

PCS, Inc. was selected by Allied Building Corporation to perform this unique and challenging renovation project for the new Hispanic center at St. Luke’s University Health Network. This former commercial mixed use building is in downtown Bethlehem, PA. To kick-off the project, PCS crews abated all asbestos containing materials in preparation for demolition and saw cutting work in the next phase. PCS demo crews completely gut the existing structure and installed engineered shoring to enable saw cutting and removal of structural components for a new elevator and stair tower in the building. After that work was completed, all plaster and brick walls were stripped and glass block infills were removed at each window location. This was a fast-paced project with a tight schedule to keep and PCS was able to complete the work in the allotted time. PCS is always honored to be a part of community development projects in our local cities

Arlington National Cemetery – USS Maine Memorial Restoration

PCS, Inc. was contracted by Anderson Burton to provide exterior lead-based paint and asbestos abatement services to the historic 102-year-old USS Maine Memorial at Arlington National Cemetery in Arlington, Virginia. The memorial’s exterior paint had been damaged by decades of sun, rain and inclement weather. Abatement crews removed and disposed of asbestos-containing caulk in the gutters and removed all lead-based paint located on the exterior of the main mast, shroud hardware and crow’s nest of the memorial. To do this, a chemical paint stripping process was facilitated. After 24 hours, crews removed multiple layers of lead-based paint down the first layer. The work also involved rinsing and cleaning the exterior of the structure with a HEPA vacuum and scraping/wiping away loose paint chips to remove any remaining stripper residue. PCS was honored to be a part of the restoration of this historic memorial.

Ben Franklin Techventures Concrete Panel Removal

PCS, Inc. was contracted to remove precast concrete panels from Ben Franklin Techventures in Bethlehem, PA. The façade of the building consisted of fifteen different size and shape precast panels with weight ranging from 2,100 lbs. to 15,100 lbs.
