Project Details

PCS was contracted by Warfel Construction to perform selective demolition and concrete cutting services to the former Bulova Building in Lancaster, PA. This expansive $28.5 million historical renovation project will turn the former building, renamed 101NQ, into a mixed-use complex that will house more than 150,000 SF of retail, restaurants, offices and luxury condos in the heart of downtown. Zamagias Properties and its partners on the project, Lefever Funk Architects, RGS Associates, Warfel Construction, and PPM Real Estate Inc., plan to have 101NQ completed by summer 2019. PCS is thrilled to be part of this exciting redevelopment project for the city of Lancaster.

PCS crews performed interior and exterior demolition to the building. To kick off the project, a scaffolding system was installed on portions of the building to facilitate façade demolition as well as CMU block wall, brick veneer and canopy removal. Once completed, the removal of the exterior precast panels took place, which involved shutting down sections of the street downtown to ensure the crane was able to lift each 6,800 pound panel safely to the ground for disposal. Inside, crews removed escalators, stairs, elevators, and mezzanines as well as saw cutting portions of concrete slab. Additionally, PCS provided various openings in the roof and floors throughout the building by cutting through the concrete.
