Since 2015, PCS, Inc. has added four (4) Husqvarna DXR remote-controlled demolition robots to its ever-growing fleet of selective demolition equipment. The 100 & 300-series DXR robots are state-of-the-art workhorses that offer increased productivity and efficiency while making demolition tasks and onsite conditions much safer for our employees.
The physical capabilities of the robots, along with their versatility for moving throughout buildings, often makes them an integral component on our jobsites each day.
Demolition & removal of exterior brick façade of the building utilizing the Breaker attachment.
Demolition of concrete slab/foundation utilizing the Breaker attachment to rattle the concrete rather than chip/chisel it.
Demolition & removal of a 6-story concrete stairway utilizing the Crusher attachment to break up the concrete and the Bucket attachment to remove the concrete.
It is important to remember that the intent of the units is to increase production and help reduce worker injuries. Utilizing these units allows us to reduce workers exposure to hazardous demolition activities.
Some areas we have witnessed the most impressive results with the DXR 140 come specifically with many of our day-to-day tasks. The hammer or breaker on the robots is possibly the most used attachment. The crowd favorite is the “Deck Buster” or “Elephant Foot.” This bit is designed to impact concrete surfaces with blunt force. It is designed to rattle the concrete rather than chip or chisel it. This is particularly attractive when demolishing concrete with a lot of rebar.
With these pieces of equipment complementing our current operation, we are yet again, making large advancements past our competition and contributing to the innovations of the construction industry. If a need to these machines is ever identified in the field, please pass along information to supervisors and we will get machines out to jobsites.
