More Project Details

PCS was given two stations ahead of the official WMATA shut down then given an additional four more stations during the 100 day shut down window Starting Memorial Day weekend. Supervisors Chris Wright, Dion Montgomery and others gave substantial/outstanding efforts and time to work through the grueling early summer days to provide a precise and clean final product for new work.

We asked a lot out of our field employees this year especially starting this project on a holiday weekend. We had to give up a lot of our weekends to get it done and we all stepped up to the task in a big way!! The crew typically worked no less than 70 hour shifts a week to keep up with the fast-paced demands of the project. Beau Nolan with Kiewit was our handler this year and sent us a message that stated “PCS pulled 368 pieces of glass without a safety incident and ahead of schedule. This was some of the biggest, heaviest, and hardest to access glass we’ve dealt with to date. May seem small but a huge win. That’s why you guys are the pros!!”.

Critical Path Tasks: PCS was tasked with demolition of the skylights, elevator glazing, windscreens, appurtenances, and miscellaneous platform items. These tasks were deemed critical path items that our field employees were able to complete ahead of schedule which allowed them to move forward to other stations ahead of the master schedule.

PCS has thoroughly enjoyed working along side Kiewit Corp for the last three years on these WMATA projects and look forward to future endeavors with them. PCS is always committed to providing the finest work quality a demolition company can provide and will continue to do so.
