Project Details

On a Thursday evening in August, a tornado swept through Trevose, PA leaving destruction in its path. Todd Quigley, our Manager of Estimating at the PA Division, received a phone call from his long-time contact at Stewart & Tate. He explained the situation to Todd and said PCS was his first thought to call. The next morning, Todd & Phil Matz, our Operations Manager, headed to the dealership to assess the damage and offer our services. After walking through several buildings and seeing windows blown out, roofs blown off and walls collapsed, the two devised a plan and had a crew
scheduled to begin the cleanup for the next Monday morning. In order to begin, PCS had to file an emergency demolition notification with EPA and PADEP. Environmental testing for asbestos had to be performed on that Saturday so we could know what materials had to be handled accordingly. John Bailey, PCS’s long time Supervisor, took charge of his team to begin cleanup. First task, remove the clasped
roof from the Parts Department building so Faulkner members could evaluate and salvage their large inventory of auto parts. Once that was completed, we moved into the Service Center to remove collapsed walls and CMU block to gain access to the vehicles that had remained in the Service Center. Crews then began to secure the dealership by removing any loose and fallen debris to make for a safe work site for others to begin the rebuild process. Crews are still in the process of cleaning up damaged building materials with multiple excavators, lifts and telescoping fork lifts. We anticipate several more weeks of cleanup at this project.
