Christiana Care Union Hospital

MIC Renovation

Date: October 2022

Location: Elkton, MD

Category: Hospital

Scope of work: Selective demolition

Last October our MD division started an exciting project at Christiana Care Union Hospital performing selective demolition of its MIC (Maternity and Infant Care) department for a posterior renovation. For two months, our crew worked on removing all counter tops, wall cabinets, floors, build-in furniture, plumbing & appliances to leave the place empty, clean, and ready for the new construction to start. Towards the end of the demolition phase of the project, the team found asbestos on one of the structures that forced the crew to pause the work, giving our environmental remediation specialists time and space to safely remove and dispose the hazard.
Despite this unforeseen circumstance, the team resumed the work fast and safe for the final part of the project. Once the demolition stage was completed, it came time for the debris cleanup. This step is as important as the first one and here at PCS we distinguish ourselves for leaving all of our sites clean, neat and ready for the next one to work. This time was no different as Eric and his crew worked hard to leave the place in excellent shape. Way to go team!
