In January 2022 Anne Arundel Community College (AACC) welcomed their first class of students to the brand-new Clauson Center for Innovation and Skilled Trades on their Arnold, MD campus.
There is a growing need for skilled trade workers in our community and AACC is answering this call. PCS participated in the early stages of development of the centers programs and eventually contributed to the building fund which was comprised of all donations by local partners and businesses. Over 200 donations were made and AACC exceeded their goal and raised $4.25 million to build the beautiful center.
The Clauson Center for Innovation and Skilled Trades was completed in December 2021. We are proud to have participated in this awesome endeavor and look forward to some top notch recruitment of Clauson Center grads. The trade programs being offered in the 12,000 square foot facility include: electrical, forklift operation, HVAC, plumbing, welding and carpentry. They are hopeful that within a few years, the building will need an expansion and they will be able to accommodate over 900 students in their programs. There are going to be degreed apprenticeship options available which is something that the trade industry has never seen. There is a big push in the US right now for more trades so we are very fortunate to have his in our backyard.
