ABC Chesapeake Clay Shoot Networking Event
August 27, 2018The Component – Fall 2018
October 16, 2018Our PA Division, with Phil & Jenny Matz taking the lead, recently sponsored and participated in the 3rd annual Touch A Truck event on September 22nd. This event, which invites children and young adults of all abilities to explore and learn about construction equipment, is part of Warfel Construction’s “Pay it Forward” Campaign that benefits local not-for-profit organizations. This year, their campaign supported Aaron’s Acres, a Lancaster-based group which provides children and young adults ages 5-21 with special needs year-round therapeutically based recreational programs.
Sponsors and local construction companies at the Touch a Truck event are given the opportunity to supply equipment that will provide a sensory-sensitive experience for the children and young adults. PCS decided to showcase one of the DXR Demolition Robots. Stefanie Casner, Justin’s wife and a wood-shop teacher, free-handed the PCS logo onto multiple two foot 6×6 blocks that Shawn White was able to move around and stack for the children, utilizing the grapple attachment on the Demolition Robot. The Robot was a huge hit and the Matz children named it Wrex, because it wrecks things.
Thank you to Warfel Construction for inviting us to participate in this incredible event – our team had a wonderful time. Another thank you to our PCS family who helped make this a memorable experience for everyone who attended.
Aaron’s Acres, now it its 20th year, serves children and young adults throughout Lancaster, Berks and Dauphin counties in PA. To learn more about Aaron’s Acres, visit their website at www.aaronsacres.org.
