Introducing Kate Licameli – PCS’s 1st Female Corporate President

Women have played key roles at PCS since day one and they continue to make a difference and lead the way today. In fact, we have a little (big) secret to share. We are thrilled to announce that as of January 1, 2019, Kate Licameli has been appointed as PCS’s first female Corporate President! Kate has worked with us for 26+ years, taking on numerous executive and departmental responsibilities along the way. She has developed the essential expertise and knowhow within our business, including serving as our V.P. of Administration. Kate is well respected for her skills, employee relationships and tenure at PCS. We are excited to continue this journey making a difference with her as our leader!

How does it feel to be the 1st female president of PCS and in an industry that’s been predominantly male-oriented?

I never really thought about the fact that I am the first female President until now. Kinda fun!  I have recently talked to a few other women who hold top positions at their construction firms and we had some interesting conversations about the fact that this is a predominantly male industry.  I have to say, most of the men that I talk to every day are respectful and treat me the same way that they treat everyone else.  It’s not often that I feel that being a woman affects my ability to get things done – if I do come across someone who is treating me (or any of the other women here) less than I deserve, he will learn quickly where he stands.

What are you most excited about in this new role

I love the people that we work with and being able to make decisions daily that affect our team is very rewarding.  It’s a different mindset now since the decisions are a little bit bigger but knowing that I have input and support from everyone here at PCS makes it much easier and much more fun.

What is your vision for the future of PCS? 

We are in growth mode now and I see us continuing with our controlled, steady growth to get bigger and better each year.  BUT – even though we have become a “bigger” company, I always want PCS to have the small company feel.  We are truly a family and I will strive to keep that atmosphere here for the duration of my time here

What message to do want our employees to most remember? 

Teamwork makes the dream work!  Always support your fellow employees in whatever they need help with & lead by example with heart, kindness, trust and hard work.
