Progress continues at Fort Belvoir where PCS, Inc. is providing selective demolition, asbestos abatement and lead abatement services in three buildings located on the Army base. PCS has been working under various contractors to assist in the renovations of these older buildings since 2013.
PCS was contracted by Facility Support Services, LLC last year to complete asbestos and lead abatement, interior demolition and saw cutting services in buildings 208 and 219. Abatement crews recently removed and disposed of asbestos floor tile, mastic and all flaking lead–based paint from walls and windows throughout building 208. All workers were in proper PPE while performing abatement of asbestos and lead-based paint.
Our selective demo crews gut the interior of both buildings, removing flooring, ceiling, drywall, plumbing & light fixtures, doors, frames, windows, and mechanical ductwork. Our specialized saw cutting crews also removed concrete slabs in preparation for a new elevator in building 208.
Under Autumn Contracting Inc., PCS crews are working simultaneously in building 189 to provide asbestos abatement and selective demolition services. Abatement crews recently removed and disposed of asbestos floor tile and mastic. Once abatement was completed, crews removed and disposed of the remaining non-acm tile, mastic and sub-flooring throughout the building.
