Concrete Cutting & Core drilling

Best Techniques and Equipment

Our Services

As an active member of the Concrete Drilling & Sawing Association (CSDA), we utilize the best techniques and equipment for saw cutting and core drilling.  We utilize diamond-cutting systems. This provides significant cost advantages over conventional concrete removal methods. Advantages vary from project to project but generally include: reduced downtime, precision cutting, maintenance of structural integrity, reduced noise, dust and debris, limited-access cutting and the ability to cut heavily-reinforced concrete.  A large fleet of gas, hydraulic and electric track, wire, chain and ring saws give our crews the flexibility to make cuts in sensitive areas without disrupting building occupants.

Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR)

While saw cutting or core drilling concrete surfaces and structures, there can be a high risk of encountering rebar, conduits, and post tension cables. Using state-of-the-art GPR concrete scanning devices, we are able to locate these obstacles and mark them out with a grid on the surface prior to cutting and coring of concrete. Taking this extra safety precaution will preserve the integrity of the existing structure and reduce the need for repairs and patching of concrete.  GPR scanning is a useful tool for PCS, Inc. when renovation projects require cutting and coring services for plumbing, electrical and fire protection upgrades, drain installations and many other structural modifications.

The most common applications of GPR are to detect the following within concrete:

  • Reinforcing Steel (Rebar)
  • Electrical Lines
  • Voids
  • Post-tension Cabling & Conduits
